Upper School Summer Reading: 2024

9th GRADE REQUIRED READING

Please note that due to a limited supply of Something Bright, the bookstore has ordered Something Rich and Strange, Ron Rash's more comprehensive collection of short stories. This collection is also more readily available from other venues. Therefore, either book will be acceptable. Both books contain the same core stories, but Something Rich and Strange includes additional ones as well.

The English Department strongly suggests that all students read ONE OR MORE of the following books in addition to the required read.

Teachers will consider giving extra credit to students who read at least one from the following list and who write an essay during the first week of school.
